Contraceptive advice
You can contact us for advice on contraception. When your cycle starts again after giving birth differs per woman. Breastfeeding can slow this down, but it doesn’t protect against another pregnancy. The first ovulation comes before your first period, so you are fertile even before your period.
Here you will find more information about the various options.
Have an IUD placed by your own midwife
Charity and Vanity are allowed to place IUDs. An IUD is a reliable form of contraception and can be used well in combination with breastfeeding. We offer both the copper IUD and the hormonal IUD .
We will discuss together in advance which IUD suits you best. This can be done in an appointment at the practice or by telephone.
When to install?
Bottle feeding: from 10 weeks after delivery
Breastfeeding: from 12 weeks after childbirth
